PRIVATE BEHIND THE WHEEL INSTRUCTIONS
INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
State law requires that anyone under the age of 18 complete 40 hours of driving time with an adult before they can test for their driver's license. This time has to be completed with any driver who has had their license in good standing (no suspensions) for at least 4 years.
Driving with mom who has had her license since 1986 with no suspensions: OK!
Driving with 19 year old brother who got his license in 2009: NOT OK!
Driving with Family Friend who has had his license since 2005: OK!
Driving with Dad, who got his license back in 2008 after it was suspended in 2007: NOT OK!
Driving with All-Star Driver: Definitely OK!
DMV requires students to maintain a log of the hours completed at home with you. We will provide and review this log in the 2 Hour Parent Class portion of our classroom programs.
All-Star Driver offers Private Behind the Wheel Instructions, which count towards the 40 hour requirements. No matter how great of a driver you are (or think you are...), we strongly recommend you invest in some Private Lessons for your teen. The time spent with us will lay a foundation of skills that teens can go home and work on. The lessons will provide first time drivers with a number of tips and tricks that will not only help pass the license test, but will teach them how to be a safe driver once they have their license. Lessons will always be one on one, and will address the student's exact needs behind the wheel.
All-Star Driver prides itself on safety. Every one of our dual-controlled instruction vehicles goes for routine maintenance every 3,000 miles. Each car is inspected daily for any safety flaws that may have happened overnight. Our cars are all late model, low mileage vehicles held to the highest safety standards. We are the only driving school in Western Connecticut that drug tests each member of our staff. And each staff member goes through quarterly training to assure they are up to date on all current laws and training methods. Our staff and our equipment are our product, and we invest heavily in both to make sure that you, our customers, receive the most for your dollar.
Behind the Wheel Instructions are available from 8am-9pm, 7 days per week. We pick up and drop off at any high school or classroom location in Connecticut. Private Driving Lessons start at $75/hour, but we offer specials for buying in bulk.
