8 HOUR SAFE DRIVING COURSE
Our 8 hour safe driving course fulfills the minimum state requirement to receive a license. This program includes the required 2 hour parent class (for students under 18) and the required Drugs, Alcohol and Driving program. The class is taught by one of our state licensed driving instructors. Students under 18 years old who take only this class must have their learners permit for six months before they can test for a license, and most insurance companies will not provide a discount on automobile insurance.
This class is the bare minimum driver’s education required by the state. The class is offered in each of our branch offices around the state, and can be taken in two 4 hour classes or four 2 hour classes.
The class curriculum is as follows:
1. Parent class – Introduction to Driving
2. Highway Transportation System & Traffic Control Devices
3. Administrative Laws & Physical/Mental Health
4. Drugs, Alcohol & Driving
At the conclusion of the final class, students will receive a completion certificate which they must present to the DMV at time of testing.
The class does not include any private driving lessons, but these lessons can be purchased in two-hour time blocks. We offer package deals for students to complete the class, driving lessons, and testing at our facility.
